Women tell Healthline how they made their decision to “go flat” or undergo reconstruction surgery.

 

My Hope Chest has always been an advocate that every woman “who desires” should have the opportunity to have breast restored after mastectomy.  “We exist,” states My Hope Chest Founder, Alisa Savoretti, “because I did not have that option for surgery.”  Alisa was uninsured at time of cancer diagnosis.

While some women opt not to have reconstruction, it is a very personal choice, My Hope Chest exists because 1000’s of women diagnosed each year (220,000 women survive each year) are wanting but unable to attain their surgery.
