Wish Boats and Silent Auction make up this 3rd Annual fete with a new host!

A tribute to breast cancer survivors and the final step of breast cancer treatment.

To benefit the*My Hope Chest* breast reconstruction program

“Hope Floats on BRA DAY” is My Hope Chest’s 3rd Annual fundraiser. The significance of the day began in 2012 with the declaration of “Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day” by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). The annual event held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, October 15th this year, was created originally in Canada to highlight the lack of education of breast reconstruction options at point of diagnosis for breast cancer patients.

As the only national not for profit funding reconstruction for uninsured and under insured survivors, My Hope Chest at last, has a voice for our mission to “Create Butterflies” and transform lives!

WHAT:  My Hope Chest’s 3rd Annual Charity Fundraiser
WHEN:  Wednesday, October 15, 2014  5:30 -8:30pm

Light refreshments are served and a short speech is made about the significance of Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day and the transformation and new beginnings that the surgery brings for breast cancer survivors- those who have been fortunate enough to have had reconstruction and the NEW HOPE this day brings for closure of the disease for the uninsured survivor.

My Hope Chest introduces the official “Breast Reconstruction Awareness Ribbon” a surgeon and a patient story are shared before the ceremony. Volunteer “Angels” assist attendees at edge of water in preparation of releasing their “Wish Boat.”  MHC will release a Lantern of Hope to signify the end of the event and closure and new beginnings for our survivors!
